This essay attempts to demonstrate a path between film as a formal experiment and its potential use for the representation of alternative or less represented ideas. While studying how experimental film may well be the ideal medium for questioning societal constructs, this text develops a new status for the viewer who is made active when watching an experimental piece of film.
