La Méthode Arthur

One of my first film-making experiences was collaborating on La Méthode Arthur, housed by Montmartre Production in Paris. I was tasked with creating a story using the theme "artists in Montmartre" with a blend of thriller and romance as imposed genres.

La Méthode Arthur is set in the backstage of a popular theatre show, presenting a manipulative director (Arthur) who consistently pushes his actors too far in their performances, blending the lines between fiction and reality for, in his own words, "the sake of great art".

This experience taught me the base of screenwriting whilst allowing me to enjoy a creative challenge that led me to develop my own style as I discovered themes I am interested in as a writer. The film deals with passion, auteurship, excess and disillusion, putting each character in an unescapable system instilled by Arthur. The film was screened at the Cinéma des Cinéastes as part of Montmartre Prod.'s second live presentation of self-produced films.
